Molluscum Contagiosum
Structure:
What you see is akin to, but not directly like, the structure of the mushroom funghi. The
'blisters' or 'warts' are the fruit of the mycelium . Popping the warts is like bursting a puffball mushroom and seeing the
spores explode all over. Best not to be tempted into doing this for Molluscum as it is
highly contagious and develops readily. In the case of children, once established on one
child, it easily spreads to the others in the family. Conventional medicine is unable to
offer a remedy or cure for this as it is often the case the molluscum disappear on their
own accord after several months or years. This can be distressing to a parent, who often
find Molluscum unsightly, the time scale too long and that it could be a possible source
of derision from the offspring's peers.
Susceptible environments:
The condition of Molluscum Contagiosum is prevalent in school environments where
close contact, curiosity and childish innocence play a part in the contagion.
